Dissociative Identity ~ Part 2, #6

Dissociative Identity Disorder is frequently misdiagnosed as schizophrenia. Similarities shared by persons with both disorders include paranoia and sometimes the hearing of voices. One difference is the causes. Yet another is that voices heard by people with DID are associated with the self and the voices heard by men and women with schizophrenia aren't associated with the self.

  1. @1lilleth I wish you the best. The woman I'm talking about is me. I think the mental health system is ridden with stigmas. I knew many people who had Bipolar Disorder. It looks to be a very painful expreience. I was never diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder until a mental health professional couldn't listen to me, and couldn't regard the lengthy records of my brain injury, epilepsy, and D.I.D. that I provided. She told me I was schizo. Now, ppl tell be about bipolar stuff, maybe bcause of her.

  2. A nursing assistant is a person who is trained to help nurses in medical facilities. Many nursing assistants do things like take blood pressure, test respiration, measure weight and height, help people bathe, help people eat, help people go to the bathroom, and clean up. I think it's really good work, but I don't know if I could do it. I have memory challenges and being a nursing assistant requires so much responsibility for the welfare of others.

  5. No, I'm not. But, I was a student in a Nursing Assistance Program at a community college. I couldn't complete the program because my housing wouldn't allow me to be a full time student.
