DID (previously known as several personality disorder) is a diagnosis that divides the psychological acedemic community. A lot of numerous researchers and psychologists actually beleive that the disorder doesn't even exist, and that people who claim to have numerous personalities are actually experiencing the other personalities since of psychosis.

Those few that do beleive in DID as a diagnosis, would use medication as a major treatment. Psychotherapy would also aim to combine both personalities into 1. But once more, there is small details on treatment for this due to the fact it is much more or less a diagnostic myth.

The DSM and ICD (mental health diagnostic bibles) will have entries on DID and suggested treatments for it.
