Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality)

Psychology project from my junior year in high school. I did not complete the video, but I presented it anyway. Note that this video tends to present the disorder in a fairly severe light, and the severity and cause of the condition varies between individuals. This was accomplished on the night prior to the due date (which is why I did not finish it).

Numerous people with Dissociative Identity Disorder feel the trauma they recall wasn't bad enough to trigger DID. Watch as Holly Gray, author of Dissociative Living Blog, explains. Read Dissociative Living Blog on HealthyPlace.com www.healthyplace.com

  1. I agree, I were born with this "disorder". I don't find it much of a problem, I would have been forgetful eitherway (and I partly remember what happened, and I know the cause of why I forgot some of it). It can ruin friendships but they can create them as well. Most of my friends know about it, so it's not a huge problem.

The advantages is that each personality has it's own skills, however, it's damn annoying to learn a math test the one day and "forget" it the other day. It's not a disorder.

  2. Well done but the bleach music kinda killed it for me and took a bit of the seriousness out of it. Though people who don't know what bleach is will find the music well chosen.

  4. quick notes: DID/MPD does not necesarally come about due to abuse/trauma. There are naturally occuring plural systems. :) Also, there is no limit to the number of people contained in a system. A few of my multiple friends's systems number inthe thousands! :D other than that, very well presented.

  8. @ErinReneeSweet There are academic versions that are much cheaper than the professional versions, although they are still not cheap (older versions may be cheaper, though). If you are resourceful, you could get it cheaper/free. Schools may have it in computer labs, for example, which you can use for free.

What I did wasn't difficult. I just drew some things and moved them around on a timeline to make them move. I did have several years of experience already though. It took one day/night.

  9. @sk89q Do you have to buy that? What this difficult? How long would you say this took you to make what how much previous experience? I'm sorry for all of the questions but this is amazing!

  19. not true, there's DID that you can remeber, I was misdiagnosed with bipolar.I have memory when they decide to share but what I don't rmember in detail I know for sure it happened except the what ahppened when I was 2 that started my split, I I remmember everyhting since eight months, but alot of the time Iknow but I don't know details. Sometimeout of the blue I can go into extreme details, color smells and sounds, I also have OCD,PTSD and anxiety and depression at other times.

  20. Hi- you posted this a while ago.
Maybe you should speak to your doctor. I hope they can help you. If you can remember all of this then it's not did. I don't want to sound vain but it doesn't sound like Bipolar either. I don't think anyone can suggest what you have over youtube- we don't know you. You should talk to someone with a degree in psycology, or in the very least a medical background. Love light and Peace.

I have DID and if you can remember all of it, it's not DID. What it might be is Bipolar Disorder. Many confuse them. But if you really wanna be sure, just write some questions and see if someone answers them.

  22. depersonalisation is losing sense of reality and your own person. You've got a feeling like you're living outside your own body and look at it...
Like your so-called spirit is floating, willingness, behind your body.

    there are mutliple dissociation's:
Dissociative amnesia is losing your own personal information. You just forget who you are.
Dissociative Fugue is losing personal information and creating a new one.
Dissociative identity disorder is creating lots of inner-characters; alter-ego's.
